On 17th May of 2025, ACEPSD staff members together with the Alb-Adriatico 2013 members organised the event for the agreement signing regarding the Joint Research Unit (JRU) creation in Albania on behalf of 2B-BLUE project implementation. This agreement was signed by Albanian Center for Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development (ACEPSD) representative with the private company Alb-Adriatico 2013 representative for the creation of the JRU on Aquaculture, Marine Biodiversity and Blue Biotechnologies. In Albania, for the first time ever, all the stakeholders (private companies, academia, NGOs and other interested organisations) will have the chance to be testimonials of the implementation of Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA). The conversation between scientific and industrial partners seemed quite promising to achieve the successful piloting of this technology and the creation of a Demonstration Site (DS) in the Bay of Vlora, for the first time ever in Albania!!
