On 22–23 April 2026, the 2B-BLUE PPs carried out a two-day project meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, hosted by the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR).

The first day, partners conducted a field visit to the Greek Demonstration Site in Chalastra, in the northwest of Thermaikos Gulf, followed by a visit to the Axios Delta Information Centre. During this visit, partners observed local aquaculture practices and received detailed explanations on environmental management and governance frameworks from site representatives. The activity enabled direct interaction with local stakeholders and provided a practical context to ongoing project work.

On 23 April, the 5th Steering Committee meeting was held with the participation of 16 representatives (14 in person and 2 online). The meeting was opened by the project coordinator (UMU) and the host partner (HCMR). Partners reviewed the progress of project implementation across all Work Packages, including CO₂ monitoring results, coordination of activities, and the status of deliverables and activities according to project plan, reporting requirements, deliverable timelines, and upcoming project activities were also shared and clarified.

During the meeting, the Steering Committee unanimously approved the submission of a project modification request under the Fast-Lane procedures of Interreg Euro MED to extend the project duration for Transfer of results and activities of 2B-BLUE. The coordinating partner was mandated to proceed with the preparation and submission of this request.
The meeting concluded with agreement on next steps, upcoming deadlines, and future events. Overall, the two-day meeting ensured alignment among partners, supported effective coordination, and reinforced the implementation of 2B-BLUE activities.
